Crowsfoot Grass
- Summer annual
- The dark green reflective blades of the Crows Foot are not hairy
- Edges are rough and have spikes leading out with white centre
- Short membranous ligule divided at centre
- Tolerates low mowing heights
- Inflorescence is two to ten spikelets on long stem

Capeweed
- Autumn/winter annual
- Rosette forming dicot with deeply lobed leaves with a white downy underside
- Inflorescence is many small flowers on a black, pitted receptacle with radiating yellow florets
- Fruits in late winter and spring producing woolly seeds that stick to clothing
- Deep taproot can make control difficult

Cudweed
- Annual or biennial
- Growth in winter as the Buffalo grass lays dormant
- If they spot up pick them out immediately
- Prevention is the best to avoid this, having healthy thick lush lawn with enough nutrients
- Occurs everywhere in Australia

White Clover
- Perennial Creeper
- It appears from spring through to autumn and usually in thin lawns with nutrient-poor soil
- The flowers on White Clover are spiky and white with a brownish green centre
- White Clover has seeds that can survive high heat, low temperatures and can stay dormant for years before germinating.
- White Clover grows in a creeping manner and will develop roots wherever a stem node touches the ground

Crabgrass
- Summer annual
- Spreading, it can spread very fast cannot be ignored
- Most noticeable it has wide leaf blade and grass-like appearance
- It can spread when it’s leaf blades grow faster than the surrounding lawn, usually grass is lacking nutrients
- Prolific seed producer, a single weed can send out thousands of seeds

Treatment: Hand weed and OxaFert is a good idea
Moss or Lawn Algae
- Moss is a sign of poor soil
- Correct Fertiliser and nutrition can quickly solve this
- Can be caused by some drainage or compacted soils
- Will spread in shaded areas and near edging
- Algae thrive in areas where there is wet/damp soil and lots of sunlight
Treatment: Sodium Hypochlorite
Bindii
- Summer annual
- Spreading, it can spread very fast cannot be ignored
- Most noticeable it has wide leaf blade and grass-like appearance
- It can spread when it’s leaf blades grow faster than the surrounding lawn, usually grass is lacking nutrients
- Prolific seed producer, a single weed can send out thousands of seeds

Browning of Grass
- First sign of nutrients lacking or not enough water
- Circular brown spots can be a sign of fungus build up
- Solutions are fertilising regularly, and giving regular good watering
- Iron or other mineral deficiency browns the grass in winter
- Nitrogen deficiency may be the cause in summer
